This user guide provides detailed instructions for using Yembo's ScanMyHome version 3.0.0 and beyond.
Before you scan
Prepare the best possible recording environment before you scan:
Let in lots of natural light.
Open window coverings so that we can accurately measure your windows.
Open doors to the rooms you plan to scan.
Once you've logged in or entered your invite code:
Edit your address or contact details if needed.
Allow camera and notification permissions when prompted. View article here if you're having trouble.
Watch the short tutorial video to learn how to get the best scan results.
Scan in progress
Starting on one floor of your home, scan all rooms and hallways you want to include on that floor. Then, move on to the next floor.
The reconstruction will have the best results if you scan adjoining rooms in order as you move through your home.
Tilt phone toward floor.
This step allows the phone's camera to detect the floor plane for the AR session.
Move phone to start.
With your camera aimed at the floor of your room, slowly move your phone in a figure-8 motion over the floor.
If you're having trouble, aim the camera over an area rug or different textures on the floor to help the AR detection.
Press "Start 1st room" to begin scanning.
Your phone's screen will turn blue as you "paint" the room blue.
Walk around the room, rather than pivoting in one place.
Maintain a distance of about 2-5 feet from your target as you walk through the room. This helps our technology capture your camera's position in space to provide accurate reconstructions of your home.
Don't worry about every nook and cranny.
Once your room is mostly blue, press "Finish" to move on to the next space you'd like to scan. It's okay if there are some white spots in dense areas like bookshelves.
Keep it simple.
You don't need to film under desks or other furniture items. Simply paint the walls, floors, and ceiling until the room is mostly blue.
Take pictures of areas of interest during the scan.
Press the camera icon during your scan to take pictures and add captions for anything you'd like to point out in your room.
Instantly preview your digitized room.
Confirm that the shape of the room looks like your actual room. This is your chance to continue or re-start scanning if it looks like something went awry. If it looks like there are extra or incorrect walls, try re-scanning and standing further away from the walls to provide a wider field of view on your phone's camera.
Finish scanning, or walk to the next room or hallway.
If you'd like to include more rooms or hallways on this floor, walk to the next space you'd like to scan. Continue scanning each room and/or hallway until you're ready to finish up or move on to the next floor.
Label each room that you scanned.
Label each room or hallway, with the option to provide a custom name, such as Nursery or Primary Bedroom.
Upload scans.
Uploading works best on wifi. Don't worry if you need to upload later, your data will be saved on your device.
Receive your results.
We will process your scans and send you a notification when they are ready to view on your device.
